Sažetak
In this article the author elaborates the combination of military and urban influences that were both present in the history of the Tvrđa fortress. Tvrđa was for centuries a dominant part of Osijek, the reason for its expansion and its current shape. The significance and characteristics of Tvrđa's architecture are discussed, a dominant type of residential housing is defined and the importance of the continuity of housing is proven for the past as well as for the future of Tvrđa. važnost kontinuiteta stanovanja kako u prošlosti tako i za budućnost Tvrđe.
