Sažetak
Sodium carbonate (SC), potassium carbonate (PC), sodium bicarbonate (SB), potassium bicarbonate (PB), and ammonium bicarbonate (AB) were tested for toxicity to spores of Botrytis cinerea in vitro. Spores in potato dextrose broth (PDB) containing the salts were incubated for 18 hr at 20 oC, then stained with acid fucshin and 3 replicates of 100 spores were examined. At native pH, the EC-95, concentrations of SC, PC, AB, SB, and PB were 29.36, 36, 74 and 212 mM, respectively. When the pH was adjusted to 7.0-7.5 the EC-95 concentrations of AB, PB, and SB were 48, 94 and 111 mM, respectively. Single berries were inoculated with B. cinerea and sprayed with of AB, PB, or SB and incubated for 7 days at 14C. The incidence of gray mold was 24.2, 8.4, 6.4, and 4.2% after treatment with water or 500 mM PB, SB, or AB, respectively. The addition of 200 ug/ml NaOCl to the bicarbonate salts significantly decreased gray mold incidence. Berry condition was an important factor, there was significant decrease in control when wounded berries were treated compared to unwounded berries.
