Sažetak
In order to prepare new thiophene polycyclic structures, potentially biologically active compounds [1], 2-[2-(2-ethenylphenyl)ethenyl]thiophene (1) and 3-[2-(2-ethenylphenyl)-ethenyl]thiophene (2) were synthesised [2], and their photoreactivity has been investigated. These conjugated thiophene derivatives upon irradiation show intramolecular cycloadditions and formation of the bicyclic structures (3, 4, 5), as the main products. The structure determination as well as the reaction mechanism will be discussed.
