Sažetak
The paper presents the environmental management system (EMS) as the most efficient tool for controlling environmental impacts related to power industry. First, the main environmental issues associated with power generation and transmission/distribution are described and the general procedure for assessing their significance for particular company is given. Second, general structure of environmental management system is explained. Finally, a practical experience of EMS implementation within power industry sector, world-wide and in Croatia, is shortly described.
