Sažetak
The traditional 110-35-10 kV distribution system in Croatia is in the process of transition to a new one with a single medium voltage level of 20 kV. Two solutions of the network development, 110-35-10 kV and 110-20 kV, are evaluated. The special emphasis is dedicated to the resulting reliability and power supply quality of the system operation, using the number and duration of outages and undelivered energy costs for comparison. Examples of the cost effective solutions for the reliability and supply quality issues in the distribution network are given, with the main tools being network topology and in-line circuit breakers or remote controlled switching devices for installation along 20 kV feeders.
