Sažetak
New dynamic conditions on the marketplace have generated certain problems that are clearly pointing to falling behind the initial development, even when it comes to organizations which have automated their business processes.Origins of this are frequently found in high costs and difficulties in maintaining existing static applications that do not change easily along with continuous changes. Changeover to the automated management of business processes often implies re-organizaton of certain parts of the existing system of work, leading to business re-engineering in some cases . This paper presents an overview of the integration of two basically convergent technologies, such as the Internet/Extranet/Intranet (commonly named Xnet) and a business process design and management software (E-Process Design and Management Software or EPDM), offering new solutions for business process automation. Such approach has been illustrated with a programming solution called e-work. Benefits of new technologies have been stressed, e.g. enhancement, integration, feedback, analysis and deployment. However, one should bear in mind that the real rewards of E-business only begin after the complete business cycle has been automated end-to-end.
