Sažetak
During overvoltage analysis in high voltage substations provoked by atmospheric discharging
there is a problem of determining amplitude of the lightning current which provokes overvoltages.
In this paper it was tried to present the model for determining amplitude of the lightning current
and the spot of the lightning stroke into transmission line (tower, earth wire or phase conductor),
by Monte Carlo method. The method is also applied to the first five towers of 400kV output
transmission line of one power plant in Croatia.
