Sažetak
In this paper both the analytical and numerical procedures in the field of elastic stability analysis of thin-walled beam-type structures, very often present in many engineering applications such as parts of crane frameworks, railway vehicles, etc., are presented. The focus is placed on uniformly compressed members with open cross-section at which pure torsional buckling may occur. In the numerical consideration finite element modeling technique is used and its accuracy is presented through example. Material is assumed to be linear elastic.
