Sažetak
This paper studies the background of the library and information research Yugoslavia. The author describes the development of various initiatives, the means of professional communication, and education. The most important projects with regard to government support of information education are listed. The purposes of the projects are also studied, including the promotion of advanced library cooperation and modern networking, and the comprehension of the complex structure of library theory.
