Sažetak
Development of highway network is taking place at the moment in Croatia. The plan is including construction of about 1200 km of new highways that should connect all larger Croatian cities (Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, Pula, Rijeka, Osijek) with the capital of Republic of Croatia, Zagreb. At the same time this highway network is a part of Transeuropean highway network (TEN). An important part of this project are numerous bridges, tunnels and other structures that are now in construction. Typical solutions for brigdes and tunnels that are constructed on highways are respented further as well as their construction methodology: bridge over river Dobra has continuous hollow box girder of same height, Kamacnik bridge with its continuous hollow box girder with changing height, new bridge over Krka river canyon near Skradin has reinforced concrete arch bridge with the arch span of 210 m and Dubrovnik bridge is a cable-stayed bridge with the main span of 303 m. At the end new plans for the future Pasman bridge with the total length of about 2200 m has been shown as an example which project size is to be expected in the future as part of the national programme of connecting land with islands on Adriatic coast. Beside numerous bridges some major tunnel structures have been designed alogn the highway and the are represented with two biggest tunnel structures as double-tube and double track tunnels Sv. Rok (5.6 km) and Mala Kapela (5.7 km) that are both constructed with conventional drill-and-blast methodology using NATM principles.
