Sažetak
This is the first in a series of monographs to present detailed results from ongoing fieldwork on the prehistory of Istria. Its first goal is to introduce Pupićina Cave, a multicomponent prehistoric site, its setting, and our methods of excavation and analysis. Second is to provide a complete account of the results of the 1995– 1998 excavations of its post-Mesolithic deposits. This is provided in 10 chapters focussed on different classes of excavated remains and/or analytical techniques: microbotanical remains, stratigraphic analysis, sedimentology, pottery, lithics, faunal remains, bone and antler artifacts, mollusks, charcoal and phitoliths, and microfauna. Third goal is to situate results from Pupićina Cave within the wider, regional context of the prehistory of Istria and the eastern Adriatic.
