Sažetak
A numerical diagnostic key for the identification of Gram-negative fermentative bacteria is described. This kex permits the identification of different species and their biochemical variants of high accuracy. Unknow strains were inoculated into a routine biochemical set. Points ewre assigned to positive reactions and the score of thirteen tests was added up, after which the identification using this numerical key was obteined in 67.48% strains, while in the remaining ones a small number of additional biochemical tests (differential test) was required to distinguish between strains giving the same score in the routine set of biochemical tests. The proposed key is acceptable for routine work, even in small microbiological laboratories, and may be used by hand or can be accumulated by computer as at our Depertment.
