Sažetak
Conservation of the total energy and the total momenta in time-stepping schemes for non-linear 3D beams of the Reissner-Simo type is achieved via a particular treatment of large 3D rotations, which involves a rotational update using Cayley transformation, an interpolation of incremental tangent-scaled rotations and a non-linear update formula for angular velocities. In this note we investigate the side-effects of this procedure.
