Sažetak
The paper describes elements of a pilot-project of the Geographic Information System (GIS) for city roads of Osijek. The core element of the system are city roads, which are organized in a network topology. The system contains elements such as geometry characteristics of roads (length and width of pavement, horizontal and vertical elements of axis), layers and condition of pavement structure. Other traffic infrastructure factors contained in this project are footways and bicycle tracks, parking lots (number of parking places, collecting parking fees, etc.), as well as traffic signalization. The above mentioned can be achieved by a particular synthesis of GIS and CAD technologies, which has many possibilities of attaching characteristics to the system elements and also to many specific kinds of displays (longitudinal and cross-sections). For this pilot-project we have chosen Autodesk Land Development Software.
