Sažetak
The objective of the paper is to analyse the behaviour of a nailed wall in soft clay deposits, constructed for the temporary protection of an excavation pit in the downtown Zagreb, which is used as a test wall. It is a first attempt to build a nailed wall in Croatia. The paper addresses the effect of loading on the deformation, displacement and failure mechanism of the soil nailing structure. The analysis of the evolution of displacements is carried out based on soil parameters and displacements measured during construction. It is performed using program FLAC, provided by Itasca Consulting Group, Inc. Minneapolis, Minnesota. The results of the analysis show that, for given soil parameters, high stresses developed in soil behind the nailed wall, although forces in nails are in expected limits.
