Sažetak
Croatia's economy has undergone significant transformation since the country achieved independence in 1991. Since 2000 economy accelerated by opening to global markets through WTO and CEFTA memberships, and especially signing the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) with the EU. SAA initiated harmonization with the EU acquis communautaire, whereby the substantial progress in some area had been achieved. In order to complete the transition to the mordern market economy, the outstanding issues have been identified, such as high unemployment rate of 15%, government secotr deficit, the reform of public administration, stgrengthening financial markets, creating a favorable investment climate, environment and agricultural reform.
