Sažetak
Inraclutch egg dimensions variation in the Tree Sparrow Passer montanus were studied during 1998-1999 in the village of Mokrice in NW Croatia. Analyses were made only on clutches with five eggs (dominant clutch size of the first clutch in the study area) where first eggs were laid on the same day (9 April 1998 and 14 April 1999). The positive correlation between egg length and egg breadth, egg length and egg volume, egg length and egg shape index as well as between egg breadth and egg volume were statistically significant. So was the negative correlation between egg breadth and egg shape index. Generally, the laying order did not affect egg dimensions. According to the relative size of the final egg laid (%D) Tree Sparrow adopts the brood-reduction strategy.
