Sažetak
Stylistic deviations do not occur randomly in a discourse. There are kinds of discourse and particular places in a discourse where the occurrence of stylistic deiations can be expected with high probability. The thesis of the paper is that meaningful deviations occure where there is a need to regulate communicative adjustement of the audience to the course of discourse. Such regulatory function is termed - 'metacommunicative'.
