Sažetak
The autor tries to prove the authenticity of inscriptions in a document kept at the Borelli family archives.
The original document has not been preserved, so that only a copy exists containing eight Roman inscriptions from Burnum area. Thanks to the mediation of Alačević and Bulić, the Inscriptions based on this copy can be found in CIL III (included in the chapter "Inscriptiones falsae vel alienae", except one: CIL III, 2840). The compliers of the Corpus doupted the authenticity of the inscriptions mainly becouse of the lack of independent confirmation of their existence. Such evidence has not yet been found; during the war it was impossible to do any field research in order to confirm the hypotheses, since the area was under Serb occupation at the time when this study was written, and it was inacessible to Croatian autorities and citizens. Some indications point to the fact that the document contains copies of authentic Roman inscriptions, mainly from the early Imperial period. In that case, the corpus of Latin Burnum inscriptions would be enriched by several documents, some of wich belong to soldiers from the XI or IIII legion.
