Sažetak
Current condition in applied research and development in Croatia are autlined. It is shown that also in Croatia R&D as a business activity has a very good market position. It is pointed to inefficient investments in R&D on the part of the government, and also to inadequate apprasial of the results. The example of the independent scientific-research company Koncar - Electrical Engineering Institute illustrates a possibility of effecient management of a company whose main business activity is R&D. The importance of watching key performance indicators of a scientific-research organization is stressed, and a possibility of its up-to-date implementation presented.
