Sažetak
This paper deals with the problems in selecting the wind turbine generator system units for operation in combined electric power system of the Island of Rhodes, Greece. The choice of modern wind turbines is carried out using the CRO-EOL expert system. Input technical and economic parameters relevant for the choice are from different sources: wind turbine manufacturers, wind power farm owners and from experts whose expeirence is built into the knowledge base of the CRO-EOL expert system. The experience in application of the expert system on the example of this Mediterranean island will help in choosing the optimal wind turbines in Croatia.
