Sažetak
This article deals with surface electromyography, including measurement, aquisition, processing and analysis of emg signals. The short description of emg system designed, developed and tested in our Laboratory for Biomechanics and Automatic Control Systems, LaBACS is given. Emg system was tested by measurements of muscle activity during normal gait. Data processing includes several filtering techniques for eliminating white noise and low frequency noise (motion artifacts), with the accent on wavelet denoising. This novel technique was compared to traditional filtering techniques and results are presented. Analysis of emg signals was focused on detection of muscle activation intervals during gait. The method for detecting muscle activity, based on maximum voluntary contraction and application of thresholding is proposed.
