Sažetak
Today, the broadcast television could be described with two words: digital and compressed. Now that every tape format is digital, we are trying to find compression tool which could handle to all of the parts of the chain. MPEG could achieve this goal, however MPEG editing is difficul but not impossible. At the other hand, SDTI is going to revolutionise the industry, because it carries compressed signals, and the compression only has to be done once at acquisition and decompress at transmission. Referring to these technical facts, present state of technology and future innovations in HRT will be presented.
