Sažetak
This paper presents an integrated framework for addressing voltage-related instability problems caused by slow load variations. The purpose of this framework is to establish an effective tool for the problem analysis which: avoids intensive computational efforts, provides information regarding the degree of stability or instability, provides information regarding the load margin of instability, and provides information how to derive preventive control when the system is deemed unstable. The proposed methodology integrates continuation power flow, as a comprehensive tool for tracing power system steady-state behavior due to load and generation variations, modal analysis, which provides useful information regarding the mechanism of loss of stability, and static bifurcation theory, which provides useful information regarding preventive control determination. All examples, included in the paper, are based on real-life Bosnian Electric Power System (configuration in 1996).
