Sažetak
A new classification based on the level and direction of the missile penetration and related to the fracture sites and extension is proposed. The penetrating missile injuries of the midface are divided into the following: transorbital, transmaxillar, palatoalveolar, central and tangential. The missile injuries of the mandible are classified according to the site and proportion of the bone defect and bone comminution. The characteristics of each group are described.
