Sažetak
One year after myocardial infarction (MI) 415 patients (pts) received the questionnaire relating the working status, physical activities and perception of health. Results were compared with clinical status of pts during the first 3 months of illiness. Among 415 pts 229(55.2%) returned to work and 186(44.8%) were still out of work. We have found that statistically significant factors limiting the return to work are complications during the acute phase of illness (p<0.001), pts opinion of his health condition (p<0.001), educational level (p<0.001), residual physical capacity one year after MI (p<0.001), angina (p<0.05) and body mass index (p<0.05). Factors like the localization of the MI and QRS score, the presence of complex arrhythmias and ST-segment depression during exercise testing 3 months after MI and elevated cholesterol level did not influence the working status of pts. It is concluded that many factors limiting the return to work after MI are non-medically related
