Sažetak
(TaSe4)2I is a quasi-1D conductor which undergoes a Peirles transition at Tp=260 K. Phonon softening at 2kF induces lattice modulations associated with an electron charge density wave. Elastic singularities at the Peirles transition are not yet well understood. The associates singularity in the sound velocity examined theoretically by Nakane varies like (T-Tp)^-1/2 around Tp.
