Sažetak
In mutual interaction between Ocean engineering structures with the environment environmental pollution occurs. It is important to know and monitor the sea pollution by metals, and other trace elements, and by oil. Seawater pollution level determinations can bee realised with several chemical and physical methods. Applied methods are X-ray spectroscopy, AAS, ICP and UV fluorescence spectroscopy. Seawater pollution by metals is determined through measuring their concentration within seawater specimen. Specimen are treated chemically and prepared for measurement. Excitation of characteristic X-rays is realised by radioactive source 109Cd. The advantage of this, over many other methods, is within its being non-destructible and multielemental. By AAS and ICP methods, several particular elements have been determined. The methods are destructive and monoelemental. Seawater pollution by oil is measured by optical fluorescence spectroscopy in visible optical area (V), by excitation with ultraviolet light (UV). This method is non-destructive. Both pollution groups, by trace elements and oil, are subjects of international conventions. Therefore, usage of this methods help both, to seawater environment control, and to its pollution prevention from maritime and ocean engineering objects.
