Sažetak
The development of eastern Croatia is based on integration into Central European economic and traffic systems, cultural cooperation and environmental improvement. Aware of the fact that a space cannot be properly planned on sustainable development principles within administrative boundariesm it is evident that an adeqate planning of development requires reviewing of specific areas (such as the Danube basin) and a high-quality data - base (as started with the EDP Catalogue). Since this international gathering is dealing with visions and development potentials of the Danube basin, wich to some extent means planning its future, we would like to end with the words of Antonie de Saint-Exupery: "A man does not know what future brings, but he knows that future lies on foundations and therefore may be planned."
