Sažetak
THE SOCIAL STRUCTURE OF FOOTBALL FANS IN THE CITY OF SPLIT - Summary - All previous researches of football fan in Croatia were exclusively done on one special part of fans (the extreme ones), which could be named as organised one. There is, however, much larger group that do not produces excesses and which could be named as unorganised fan. The main purpose of this paper is to discover the social characteristics of unorganised fan in order to compare them with the organised one. The research was made with the 15 questions inquiry. It was realised in 2003 by students of third year of kinesiology. The respondents were answering the questions within the intermission of two football matches in the city of Split (less visited Croatian championship and the other one of final cup with almost fool stadium). The basic results of the analysis is that there are some significant differences between organised and unorganised fan in the city of Split, but they are not related to all, but rather to some structural characteristics. Thus, gender, level of standard, occupation, self-evaluation of standard level, membership in the club, frequency of attending the matches as well as self-consideration as passionate supporter are significantly connected with membership of certain sort of fan. On the other side, marriage status, place of birth, working status, age, as well as educational level have not shown the significant connection. Beside that, the significant structural differences were discovered within the organised fan if one compares „ Torcida“ of nineties with one from the beginning of the new millennia. „ Torcida“ of to-day is older, more feminised, more educated and more job active than the one from nineties.
