Sažetak
We have investigated the influence of pathological cholesterol and fibrinogen levels on hearing loss in sudden hearing loss. Blood vessel is an organ and its membrane releases a lot of different substances which have an influence on phisiology and pathophisiology of organism. Cholesterol has a strong influence on pathophisiological processes in blood vessels, the result of that influence is a spasm or opstruction of vessels, a damage of it membrane and releasing a lot of local mediators which can potentially cause a damage. Cholesterol influence on the rigidity of external hair cells has been proved experimentally. Fibrinogen is albumen which increases pathological influence of cholesterol and changes rheological blood characteristics. Fibrinogen and cholesterol have an influence on the integrity of vessels membrane and lumen of internal ear blood vessels. By releasing mediators they also influence processes of cochlear amplification. We included 62 patients with sudden hearing loss. In 28 patients we determined the values of cholesterol with fractions, triglicerides and hearing loss . In remaining 34 patients we determined the same values and values of fibrinogen. We used Završno izviješće prvog hrvatskog projekta zdravstva as the control group and its analysed on the basis of Monte Carlo simulating population method. Sample processed normality test, normalnim testom uzorka and Students t test. Relation between pathological values of fibrinogen and hearing loss was shown as statistically significant.. P value for women is 0.0038, for men is 0, 051 and in all patients is 0, 0025. There is no statistically significant connection between sudden hearing loss and cholesterol levels in plasma, and also there is no connection between cholesterol and fibrinogen. Fibrinogen is a strong and independent risk factor in sudden hearing loss.
