Sažetak
In traffic today we meet more and more frequently line and tourist buses with elevated construction conceptual schemes, as the buses with elevated passanger platform (''Hochdecker''), and the buses with two passanger platforms (''Doppledecker''). This is understandable, because these buses offer greater comfort for the passangers, such as wider view of the landscape, possibility of emplacement of additional equipment and chambers, and larger capacity of the tunk room. Besides, prestige makes important role here, so every advanced transport and tourist company wants to have also such kind of buses in its rollingstock. The question is do such buses offer adequate safety in consideration of rhe risk of lateral overturn that would be identical to the safety which classic buses with smaller overall heigh offer. The aim of this work was to determine objective criteria for mutual comparison of the particular conceptions of buses based upon thierlateral stability, in particular from the view of their use on the road network of the Republic of Croatia. At the certain locations of that network, in particular at the costal zone of Adriatic which is touristicaly the most interesting part, characteristic are frequent turnings with small radii of curvatures, as well as appearance of strong and gusty winds that blow even in summer.
