Sažetak
The book is based on empirical studies of Croatian society, carried out by the Institute's researchers at the end of the eighties. The book is composed of five thematic blocks connected with the sociological subdisciplines and research (sub)fields developed at the Institute: social structure and quality of life, sociology of education and youth, sociological research into religion and atheism, sociology of science and sociology of culture. Each bloc consists of several research papers. Together they give a broad sociological insight into various spheres of Croatian society on the eve of deep political, economic and social changes that have begun at the beginning of the nineties. The book also contains a selective bibliography of the publications produced by Institute's researchers and associates in the period 1961-1992.
