Sažetak
This research is focused on getting insights into attitudes on the need of existence of children's rights, as well as on the practice of respecting these rights in everyday private and professional life of children's and young people's child care workers in residential institutions on the territory of the Republic of Croatia. The research includes 92 child care Workers in 7 social welfare institutions. Questionnaires for child care workers 1 and 2 were constructed for the needs of this research, and the results were analyzed at the level of frequencies and relative frequencies.
It is possible to conclude that the results give ground for optimism whether it concerns attitudes of respondents or their self-assessment and statements on respect for children's rights in everyday life. As it concerns a relatively selected population of professionals and experts working with children, such results were expected. What the child care workers should be working on more intensively in the future is observance and application of Article 12 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
