Sažetak
Successful management of forwarding companies in advanced environment of constantly discontinued changes is not possible any more based on the experience and natural talent, and the management becomes practical application of scientific knowledge about the organisation of corporate operation and management. The use of tools (logistic models) which by means of simulation show the results of decisions in advance, even before these decisions are implemented in practice, has become the main assumption for successful management and operation of advanced forwarding companies. The future of the forwarding activities in Croatia, after accession to the Union, will depend on the capabilities of integration of the forwarding agents and insurance of competitive capabilities on the free market of the forwarding services in the European Union with the countries outside the Union. The forwarding agents in Croatia will have to get transformed into organisers of optimal transportation processes, i.e. logistic operators. This will primarily solve their main task required by the advanced economic environment from the organisation of transport, which means, the need to reduce the transportation costs at the same time realising efficient transportation process.
