Sažetak
Croatia has become a significant market for selling new cars (ca. 70, 000 new cars annually), and there is a constant problem of organizing the distribution of these cars, with optimal usage of transportation units for the transport of the new automobiles to the authorized dealers in various parts of the Republic of Croatia. The problem of optimizing the operation of a logistic centre for the distribution of new cars is related to the provision of a certain quantity of transport substrate in both transportation directions, i.e. provision of transportation substrates in the return of the transportation unit to the logistic centre. The possibility of the logistic centre for major optimization of distributing new cars lies in the upgrading of the information system in such a manner that along with tracking the commodities status, the information system replaces the humans in those dispatcher activities that are related to the planning of the number of transportation units and the planning of the transportation route.
