Sažetak
In the original Axelrod's agent-based model, social influence is modeled solely by local cultural convergence, i.e. agents can become, through their local interactions, only more alike, with the basic premise that the probability of one agent being socially influenced by its neighbor is proportional to their mutual cultural similarity. This paper reports on the results of experiments with model extensions that include the introduction of a non-zero threshold for minimal required cultural similarity, nonlinear dependence of probability of interaction on agents' cultural similarity, and a simple "top-down" exogenous and endogenous cultural influence.
