Sažetak
Today most buildings are constructed from a multitude of materials, each with very specific functional demands and complex assembly requirements. Concrete is most widely used construction material. Durable concrete can be defined as one that is designed, constructed and maintained to perform satisfactorily in the expected environment for the specified design life. Current state of numerous existing structures led toward a requirement for a developing a design procedure that will consider environmental and durability conditions. In this paper the influence of environment on the concrete deterioration is described. Many different mathematical methods for service life prediction have been mentioned and some are presented in detail. The life-cycle probabilistic model that use the random variability of surface chloride concentration, chloride diffusion, threshold chloride concentration, corrosion rates, concrete material properties, element geometry and environment conditions are also presented.
