Sažetak
Regional conflicts and ever increasing word fuels consumption result in the world market disorders. Due to the aforesaid and other reasons, new types of alternative fuels such as bio-diesel, biogas, alcohol, burning cells etc. are investigated. Based on the former, especially negative experiences, the mankind is getting oriented to find some renewable energy sources. apart from possible using of water, wind and sun a biomass plays an important role. It can be utilized in its origin solid state or for gaseus and liquid fuels production. The gas obtained in this way is mostly produced for heat and electric power requirements. Biomass used for gas production is known for its wide spectrum, thus, green plants such as grasses, algae, fast-growwing brushwood and trees as well as varoius wood and industrial wasres can be used. The gas can also be produced from plant and animal wastes on farms. Liquid bio- fuels, the most common of which are alcohols and plant oils, can be produced from biomass.
