Sažetak
Forty-three potential clone candidates were chosen from different old vineyards in Istria, selected by the yield and phenotypic characteristics, with unknown genetic origin and belonging to potentially different biotypes. Vines were studied in order to assess their morphological variability, to make preliminary description and to choose clone candidates. The observed phenotypic variability within cv. Istrian Malvasia was verified by means of two-years morphological analysis. Basic ampelographic description of potentially different biotypes was made. Morphological variability was also evaluated with 25, environment less dependent phyllometric variables, which were then used in cluster analysis. Propagation material from vines at the place of origin led to the creation of the experimental collection vineyard. Further morphological, genetic and chemical investigation of potential clones in this basic collection, will give necessary data for completing the procedure of clone selection and certification.
