Sažetak
In educational processes of higher education at Croatian universities, especially on study of management and economy, new information systems curricula are introduced, both on undergraduate and graduate level. In formal graduated educational process new curriculum will results in production newly graduated in next three to five years. In order to prevail this time lag on one side, and respecting inevitable ICT development in all human and business activities, as well as constant demand for IS educated staff on the other side, Faculty of Economics in Osijek provides new highly specialized postgraduate study of information management. Theoretical background and approach in curriculum design was found in IS 2002 model curriculum as well as MSIS 2000 with respect of specificities in actual socio-economic context and strategic commitment of Faculty. Apart from providing expert knowledge on information management through vertical component of education, it is also necessary in modern turbulent conditions to ensure a permanent horizontal component of education. Using a modular approach, the latter component will provide continuous applicable insights in accordance with the interests and needs of program participants, following the principle of life-long learning in the modern knowledge society.
