Sažetak
Thermal protection of exterior walls and walls toward the unheated spaces enables the protection of building construction, prevents the construction damages and cuts the heating expenses. Smaller amount of energy for heating the living space prevents environmental pollution from the fuels needed during the production as well as cuts financial costs. Today laws and regulations are aiming towards rigid standards in the thermal insulation of buildings which requires growing need for the thermal insulation production. The production of thermal insulation materials also effects more or less, environmental pollution (production process, energy in production process, exploitation of the raw material sources). That is the reason why there is increase in the production of the ecological thermal insulation made of natural materials which are produced of treated raw materials (cellulose, wood, wool...). The use of raw materials for the production of thermal insulation materials used for cladding the surface of space where people live and work directly improves the quality of life in the building. Constant need for the adaptation or substitution of the old buildings for other, new ones results in the great amount of the building waste material. Because of the global development of the ecological awareness there is a greater need in recycling, so the modern ecological thermal insulation materials can be recycled and biodegraded. Thermal characteristics of modern ecological thermal insulation products can be compared to the characteristics of modern artificial material. In the final analysis of the costs production, instalment and durability gives the result of the use of products on the market. Greater awareness of the sustainable development planning and the need for standardization of desirable characteristics of the building materials will increase the use of eco products and thus minimize the unnecessary environmental pollution. The paper gives the overview of the modern thermal insulation materials and the analysis of their characteristics regarding their use in building.
