The paper examines the major open issues of globalization, expectations of the transition process and analyses comparative highlights of economic growth and development as compared to leading market economies of Europe with respect to Croatia. It presents the reform accomplishments of Croatia, open issues with respect to restructuring and repositioning of the economy towards improvements in its competitiveness.
