Sažetak
Durability of reinforced concrete is primarily determined by the penetration of aggressive substances into concrete, which are degrading concrete and reinforcement. For structures in marine environment and objects on roads where the pavement is strewed with salt in conditions of continental winters, chlorides are the critical environmental load. In this paper results of experimental and numerical analysis, regarding chlorides as an external load, from 25-year-old reinforced concrete structure will be presented. This structure was a part of the yacht marine at the Adriatic coast, meaning it was exposed to very agressive marine environment for more than two decades. Due to reconstruction columns were pulled out from the sea and became accessible for the testing. After visual inspection these elements were divided into 5 different zones of exposure. More than 200 chloride analysis were performed, both with on site and standard laboratory measurement techniques. On the basis of these results chloride diffusion coefficient was calculated and compared with numerical predictions, used in numerical models for service life prediction. Two numerical models for service life prediction will be applied on this structure, Life-365 and Chlodif. The last one was developed at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Zagreb. Numerical models, discussed in this paper, compute the required initiation period through the analysis of chloride ions diffusion in a semi-infinite medium. The influence of different surface chloride concentration and concrete properties on the service life are obtained. The results from the field are compared with the computational analysis.
