Sažetak
In practical examples of reinforced concrete structures the reinforcement is generally such that it cannot be simply described by the concrete finite element mesh, since it either does not correspond to the finite element boundaries or it requires a very dense mesh. This paper presents a numerical model applied to the plane reinforced concrete structures with curved reinforcing bars. The paper presents the expressions used for modelling generally curved bars embedded in a concrete eight-node Serendipity element. The reinforcement is given in a global coordinate system separately od the finite 2D element mesh. The transformation of the global coordinates of renforcement points into global coordinate system of the concrete finite element was performed using Newton iterative method. Finally, this model was applied to several actual examples.
