Sažetak
It is shown that changes of a membrane water flux by pressure variation can be used to determine porosity of the membrane's skin. The membrane skin porosity is well characterized by two compound experimental parameters K' and α . K' contains the basic morphological parameters of the skin, and α represents a measure of the susceptibility of the skin's structure under pressure. The porosity parameters of the selected reverse osmosis and nanofiltration membranes were determined. The data obtained and analyzed were explained by the pore size distribution (PSD) curves and the effective number of pores in the membranes' skin. A grouping of the membranes according to various skin porosities was proposed.
