Sažetak
Abrasive damage of prints is an important parameter in determining the mechanical resistance of the print's surface. In our study we chose different substrate samples (IJ photo paper, carton board, permanent paper and tissue paper) and examined their influence (surface properties) on the mechanical and thermal stability of Ink Jet prints. For this purpose the analysis of paper surface was first done on unprinted paper. Subsequently we made a dot formation test with pocket CCD camera. Magenta ink was deposited onto the paper surface and recorded with camera. We were gathering the information about the ink drying process and the final shape of ink dot on each sample surface. After that all substrate samples were printed with magenta and black ink and exposed to heat resistance test, according to the ISO-11798 standard. The mechanical stability of prints, expressed as rub-off resistance, was measured before and after the test. Two different methods were used: Quadrant and Pira Wallace.
