Sažetak
Doubtlessly, rhythm is important for the harmonious execution of various complex moves. The complexity of the technique elements in artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, especially in the competition variant, indicates an exceptional presence of rhythm (musicality, timing) in their realization. The authors used these starting points to set the goal of identifying any relations between rhythm and success in artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, and whether specific motor abilities can be used to predict success in these two sports. Seven specific evaluation tests were used to measure 84 female students in the third year at the Faculty of Physical Education of the University of Zagreb. The results have shown that only three predictor variables are actually and significantly related to academic success in the subjects of Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics: MAGKUS360 to success in artistic gymnastics, and MAGKUS and MBFTAN to success in rhythmic gymnastics.
