Sažetak
The herbarium Ivo and Marija Horvat (ZAHO) was established in 1918 and is comprised of 78, 000 sheets. From 1998 it is deposited at the Department of Botany, Faculty of Science in Zagreb. A list of 106 randomly chosen Balcan endemic taxa was checked in order to determine the value of collection as a source of information regarding the endemic Balkan flora. 24.53% taxa was found, collected in the period from 1918-1962. 285 sheets were examined. 47.02% of them originate from Macedonia, 36.84% from Croatia, 7.37% from Herzegovina, 4.21% from Serbia, 2.81% from Bosnia, 1.05% from Bulgaria and 0.7% from Montenegro.
