Sažetak
Two invasive Caulerpa species are present in the Adriatic Sea. At the end of 2004 Caulerpa taxifolia was found in Croatia only at three locations: Stari Grad Bay, Malinska and Barbat Channel. Its distant distribution is exclusively the result of human activities, primarily anchoring and fishing. In Croatia Caulerpa racemosa var. cylindracea was found at 35 locations, mostly in the area from Cavtat to Vis Island. One additional location is in Vrsar (North Adriatic). The alga was observed along the Albanian and Montenegro coast as well as on the Italian coast near Bari. The predominant vector of dissemination is most likely the cyclonic Adriatic current. Malinska and Vrsar are the most northern records of C. taxifolia and Caulerpa racemosa var. cylindracea, respectively, in the world.
